History of MT|SHRM

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is a nonprofit, individual membership association for human resources management professionals.  SHRM was founded in 1948 by a group of human resources professionals who predicted the future complexities of the then-emerging profession.  Today, SHRM serves over 125,000 professional members plus over 8000 student members internationally.  Members may affiliate through a network of over 400 professional and more than 200 student chapters.  SHRM is the largest professional association in the world devoted exclusively to human resources management.

The Middle Tennessee Chapter of SHRM was chartered in 1967 and currently includes over 1,100 members practicing in diverse industries and representing a wide range of professional interests, expertise and experience.  Monthly chapter meetings are held in 3 locations: Hendersonville, Nashville and Franklin.
