Maturing Your HR Operations
Presented by Janet Gilmore, former Vice President HR Operations, HCA Healthcare 

HR Professionals must continuously look for ways to ensure their HR teams are providing the most possible business value for their organizations. By focusing on continuous improvement and periodically reassessing your performance and services, you can ensure you are improving levels of service and cost efficiency in ways that will reap the most benefits. This session will discuss tactics and approaches that will help you reach a new level of performance and drive momentum in maturity, as well as implementation approaches for your own organization.

Learning Objectives:

  1. The structure and procedures for four process improvement tactics
  2. Keys to process improvement thinking
  3. An approach to selecting process improvement tactics to implement in your organization

Schedule: Doors open at 11:00 am for registration and networking. Buffet lunch begins at 11:20 am, and the presentation starts promptly at 12 noon.

Biography: Janet has recently retired from a 32-year career with HCA Healthcare. In her last role at HCA, Janet served as Vice President of HR Operations, responsible for HR Shared Services, HR Analytics / Business Intelligence, HR Strategy & Planning, HR Communications, and HR Information Systems. Under Janet’s leadership, HCA Human Resources completed a comprehensive HR transformation which involved re-engineering all HR processes, roles, and responsibilities and included implementing an HR service center and all supporting service center technology. After that implementation, Janet oversaw stabilizing the HR delivery model enterprise-wide, process and project management, HR technology and analytics, and communication, as well as daily operations and measurement of the HR service center function.

Janet began at HCA in 1986 and spent her first 20+ years at HCA in the IT organization. She held a variety of roles within IT, and in her last role with IT served as the HR Business Partner for that 5,000-employee organization. Janet led the efforts to achieve IT’s initial awards in the Best IT Place to Work program and to launch several key educational and leadership development programs.

Janet is a graduate of Belmont University, and is currently doing part-time consulting. She loves adventure travel, reading, and spending time with family, and she is enjoying becoming more involved in community service.
