Thank you, next! Employment Law (and Pop Culture) Year in Review
Presented by Jeffrey M. Beemer, Attorney, Dickinson Wright, PLLC

There is never a dull moment in employment law or pop culture, and 2018 was no exception. Many of the highest profile topics will have an impact on employers for years to come. In our annual review session, we will explore the employment and labor law issues that that made headlines in 2018 such as #MeToo / #TimesUp, the enforceability of class action waivers, the NLRB’s guidance on employee handbooks following the Boeing decision, along with updates on a variety of other equally important but less headline grabbing topics such as significant court opinions, wage and hour updates, and what new regulations may affect your business.

We will discuss what, if any, long term impact these issues may have on workplace culture and determine if they are more like pop culture trends that, like Pete and Ariana, are fleeting or, more in line with Justin Bieber, have longer staying power.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:15 am for registration and networking. Buffet breakfast begins at 7:20 am, and the presentation starts promptly at 8:00 am.
