Managing Workers Compensation Claims and Investigations
Presented by
Dianne Frey, PHR, SHRM-CP, Presales Engineer, iNova Payroll

Investigating a workplace accident or injury report timely and effectively is important to determine whether the employer is liable for the injury. Timeliness of the employee accident and injury investigation can directly affect the outcome. During this session, we will discuss best practices and key questions for investigating claims to ensure timely resolution to workers compensation claims.

An effective investigation will determine what the employee was doing, what the employee supposed to be doing, and where and how the injury occurred. An immediate investigation can locate the hazard in the workplace and corrective action can be taken to prevent additional injuries. If immediate action is not taken and other employees are injured, the employer may face fines and lawsuits.

Participants will receive information regarding:

  • How to thoroughly investigate workers compensation claims.
  • Learn how to mitigate the risk of being sued by the employee.
  • The importance of training for all employees from the executive level down.

Schedule: Registration and Networking open at 4:30 pm; Presentation 5:00-7:00 pm.
