Employers sponsoring health benefits for their employees recognize that the cost and complexity of their health benefits program increases every year.  Employers looking to optimize their health benefits program, both for their employees and their organization, need a multi-year strategic plan, and a data-driven process to monitor progress toward their goals.
  2. The rules governing health benefits programs continue to evolve and it’s important for plan sponsors to stay abreast to effectively manage their fiduciary and compliance responsibilities.
  3. As health benefits programs become more complex, it’s important for plan sponsors to implement participant education programs and decision-support tools that enable participants to make well-informed, sound decisions on their benefits.  This presentation describes the process to select appropriate tools and technologies that are the best fit for your workforce and organization.

Rob Breunig advises employers on all aspects of business planning and transactions, including employee benefit plans, health care reform compliance (PPACA), executive compensation and tax matters. Rob also supports the firm’s corporate and securities team on transactional matters.

Rob is a creative, business-oriented lawyer, who strives to educate and add value to each of his clients. To this end, he provides technical knowledge and advice to employers, associations and trustees on all aspects of ERISA and fiduciary compliance. This includes advising on healthcare regulatory compliance, investment diversification, securities compliance, tax qualification and plan administration of qualified and non-qualified plans and association-sponsored group benefit plans. Before joining Adams and Reese, Rob clerked for the California Office of the Attorney General and interned for the University of San Diego Legal Clinic Tax Appeals Assistance Program. While in law school, Rob served as executive editor of the San Diego International Law Journal.

Carrie Alexander joined the firm in 2003 and has over 15 years of experience. She leads the firm’s Strategic Employer Well-Being services, helping clients integrate well-being within organizational culture and health care strategy. Working with the firm’s benefits, change management, and legal experts, Carrie designs, develops, implements, and measures well-being initiatives for employers in a variety of industries. Drawing from the latest research and best practices, she delivers proven solutions that are flexible and customized to the unique needs of each organization. Whether a company has had a wellness program for years or is just getting started, Carrie partners to set and achieve meaningful goals that align with broader business objectives.

Carrie is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). She received her MA from Lourdes University and her BBA from the University of Michigan.

Steve Parsons is a Principal and Actuary who has worked in the employee benefits field for more than 30 years. He provides mid- to long-term strategic consulting to maximize the effectiveness of healthcare and retirement programs.

Steve is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), an Enrolled Actuary (EA), a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Tara Morey is a Senior Consultant with over 15 years of experience specializing in HR Service Delivery consulting services. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Tara spent ten years in corporate HR roles.

This combination of consulting and practitioner experience is what enables Tara to develop innovative solutions to client’s human resource challenges. Tara has partnered successfully with organizational leadership in a wide range of industries to develop strategy, select or improve an organization’s use of technology, improve operational effectiveness, manage large-scale change initiatives such as the deployment of technology or transformation solutions, and develop methods (e.g., training, communications, assessments, performance plans) to align workforces with organizational objectives.
