Toxic Employees: Strategies to Deal with "Pre-taliation" and Legal Protection Manipulation
Presented by
C. Eric Stevens, Attorney, Littler

We are all familiar with difficult employees and the havoc they inflict upon the workplace. As companies demand greater efficiency and productivity, employees who fail to keep up can become toxic, manipulating legal protections or filing "pre-taliation" claims to avoid searching for a new job. When their constant negativity damages morale and saps company resources, how should a business respond? In this interactive session, we explore these issues and demonstrate strategies for managing difficult employees while controlling potential legal exposure. We will discuss practical response methods and apply them to real-life scenarios that arise in your workplace every day.

Participants will gain understanding in:
• The warning signs of a toxic employee and early intervention techniques
• Avoiding and responding to pre-taliation claims
Effective performance management and termination strategies
