Are We Being Unreasonable? Practical Guidance for ADA Reasonable Accommodation Issues
Presented by Jeffrey M. Beemer, Member Dickinson Wright, PLLC

If you have ever struggled with how much unpaid leave you must provide an employee as a reasonable accommodation under the ADA, you are not alone! Many employers have wrestled with this issue and others regarding their obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals. This interactive seminar will provide an overview of an employer's obligations to provide reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), cover reasonable accommodation case studies, and discuss recent case law and best practices for issues that crop up frequently in the workplace, including unpaid leave. We will answer your questions throughout the session.

Learning objectives:

  • Understanding an employer's obligations under the ADA to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with a disability.
  • Understanding how and when to engage in the interactive process with the employee to identify potential reasonable accommodation.
  • Gaining practical new insights based on case studies and recent case law.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:00 am for registration and networking. Buffet breakfast begins at 7:20 am, and the presentation starts promptly at 8:00 am.
