Organizational Development Architecture: Classroom Theory vs Real World Practice
Presented by
Timothy Juergensen, Director, Organizational Development, Correct Care Solutions, LLC

Organizational Development theory and architecture are often discussed and debated in many human resource based academic and professional forums.  Participants often leave these discussions determined and inspired to implement what looked and sounded good in these forum presentations.  Outside of these forums, the challenge of turning what might certainly seem like common sense OD theory into common practice in the contemporary workplace, can be surprisingly daunting, and many times frustrating and disheartening - - especially to young, talented and enthusiastic OD professionals as they enter the real world job market.

Tim will share a story about a large and fast-growing healthcare organization’s real world “start from scratch” OD architecture development and implementation journey, including a comparison of the original vision and implementation roadmap with the actual journey’s twists and turns, actual outcomes, lessons learned and future hopes and dreams.

Learning objectives:

An overview of the:

  • Key components, inputs and outputs of a real world and functioning OD architecture
  • Key challenges of turning common sense OD theory into common practice
  • Successful practices for cultural transformation within the context of an extreme work environment

Registration: MTSU Faculty or Student: $5; Member Registration: $20 by end of business Wednesday October 18, $25 afterwards.
