Coaching for Better Performance
Presented by John Thalheimer, Leadership Guide, True Star Leadership

Coaching is the art and science of guiding an individual to better performance in their area of expertise or in an area which they wish to excel. In Today’s Business world, the manager is being tasked with coaching employees to improve their performance. In this presentation, the coaching process from a manager’s perspective is discussed as well as how to get the best performance from an employee.

According to Bersin by Deloitte organizations, coaching employees revealed a 13% stronger business result and 39% increase in stronger employees. However, most managers have not be taught the right way to coach an employee and struggle to build a strong performing team.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the difference between managing and coaching
  • Understanding the coaching process from assessment to completion
  • Understanding the role of HR in setting up the coaching process

Registration: MTSU Faculty or Student: $5; Member Registration: $20 by end of business Wednesday September 20, $25 afterwards.
