Comfort Dogs, No Nuts, and Odor-Free Workplaces- The Expansion of "Reasonable Accommodations"
Presented by
James A. Crumlin, Jr., Attorney, Bone, McAllester and Norton, PLLC

ADA and Accommodation requests can strike fear into the most seasoned HR Professional. As the law continues to evolve, employers are asked to modify workplaces in ways that were not even on the radar a decade ago. This event will help HR Professionals to better understand employer obligations, the interactive process and what constitutes “undue hardship.” The presentation will provide an overview of the content of the ADA and its requirements. Attendees will gain insight into the expansion of the act and how to manage requests that impact the employee and co-workers. Key examples will include; service dogs, food allergies and scents.

Attendees will learn:

1) What is covered under the ADA
2) How to determine if a request is considered reasonable under the act
3) How to develop a defensible strategy for the interactive process.
