FMLA and ADA: Is Leave Time Now Unlimited After New EEOC Guidance Memo

The EEOC has issued its long awaited guidance on leave as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act. This session will delve into the details of the guidance as well as the impact on current employment policies and other leave laws like the FMLA.  

This presentation is designed to meet the following three learning objectives:

 

  • To explain the EEOC's new guidance on leave as a reasonable accommodation;
  • To understand how this new guidance impacts the analysis of leave as a reasonable accommodation for employers;
  • To understand the impact of this guidance on other leave laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Schedule: Doors open at 7:00 am for registration and networking. Buffet breakfast begins at 7:20 am, and the presentation starts promptly at 8:00 am.

BiographyMegan Sutton defends local, regional and nationally-known employers against workers' compensation retaliation claims, as well as against allegations of age, race, sex, national origin and disability discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and under the Tennessee Human Rights Act.
