How Will the Aging of America Impact the Workplace?

Presented by Fred Bissinger, Regional Managing Member, Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves, and Linda Norman, DSN, RN, FAAN, Dean of Vanderbilt School of Nursing

Since 2011, it is estimated that 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day in the United States. That trend will continue for the next decade. At the same time, we are living longer than ever before. Experts project that by 2020, there will be more Americans over age 65 than children under the age of 5, an unprecedented milestone in human history.

Aging in the workplace is the sleeping giant. We have a very talented group of individuals in the baby boomer age range that will soon retire. If we aren’t careful we will be losing a very valuable skill, work ethic, and perspective.

In this workshop, attendees participate in dialogue with a panel of experts to answer:

How will the Aging of America Impact the Workplace?

  • What should employers be doing to adapt and prepare for the future?
  • What are the foundational elements to successfully accommodating multiple generations?
  • What will the workforce of tomorrow look like?
  • With the workforce aging, what are the legal challenges facing employers and how can we prepare for them?

Our demographics are changing. We need to think differently about what older adults can contribute to society and the workforce.

Join this workshop and learn from our distinguished panel on how aging employees can make a positive contribution to your workplace.
