People with Disabilities: Valued Members of the 21st Century Workforce
Presented by: Lynnette Henderson, PhD, UCEDD Associate Director of Community Services, Vanderbilt Kennedy Center

This program will provide attendees with the latest information in the Business Case for hiring people with disabilities. We will use HR research, video and Tennessee success stories to show that

  • People with disabilities make good workers.
  • The supports and reasonable accommodations are generally minor and more likely to involve ways of thinking than money.
  • There are many supports available to help businesses and their employees with disabilities be successful together and 4) we at Tennessee Works can help you find them.

At the conclusion of this event attendees will be able to:

  • Name two positive qualities of a worker with disabilities.
  • Identify two major national brands that already have discovered the value of employees with disabilities.
  • Name one source of assistance in hiring employees with disabilities in their area.

Registration:

  • Members: $18 by end of business Monday, May 18, $24 afterward*
  • Future Members: $29.00 by end of business Monday, May 18, $35 afterwards* (See below)**
  • MT|SHRM Student: $9 by end of business Monday, May 18, $12 afterwards*
