2017 Leadership Development Program

A 5-week after-hours program with a full day capstone event
May 17th through June 7th; one-day capstone event on June 16th

The 2017 Leadership Development Program builds on the body of competency knowledge which supports the new SHRM certifications (SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP) and reinforces our commitment to developing leaders of MT|SHRM and our HR community. The program will run May 17th through June 7th (sessions are in the evening). A full day capstone event is held on June 16th.

The program is a 5-week course and is intended for early to mid-level HR professionals who are emerging leaders seeking to develop as well as build their leadership skills and HR knowledge. Members who currently hold PHR or SHRM certifications will benefit from exposure to the competencies. Members seeking certification for the first time under the new SHRM model will learn foundational information to help them prepare.

The following competency areas from the SHRM certifications will be covered:

• Relationship Management
• Consultation
• Organizational Leadership & Navigation
• Communication
• Global & Cultural Effectiveness
• Ethical Practice
• Critical Evaluation
• Business Acumen

Classroom space is generously provided by Lipscomb University, but space is limited to 30 participants. Sessions on Wednesday May 17th, May 24th, May 31st, and June 7th are held in the evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The full day capstone event on June 16th will be held from 8:30am – 4:00pm, and lunch will be provided that day.

Participant Investment –

$750 for MT|SHRM members; $879 for Non-members which includes a 1 year MT|SHRM membership. Registration closes May 10, 2017.

This program has been awarded 13 hours of General HR recertification credit."MT|SHRM is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDC's) for the SHRM-CP and SHRM SCP. The use of this seal is not an endorsement by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HR Certification Institute's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit."

Scholarship information and applications are available. If you wish to apply for a MT|SHRM scholarship to offset expenses, the deadline to apply is May 1, 2017. The Ezell building is labeled 44 on the campus map which can be found at this link: http://www.lipscomb.edu/page.asp?SID=4&Page=3170). Ample parking is available in the parking lot between the Ezell Building and the baseball field. The LDP sessions will be held in Room 359. When entering the Ezell Building, you may take the elevator to your right or the steps to the left to the 3rd Floor. (The large staircase in the middle will not lead you to the room.)
